Here is some general information received from George Toriello in February 2020 concerning Julius Candrilli.

          Julius Candrilli was born on August 29, 1925.  We do not have when he entered service, but records show he was a Machinist Mate 3rd Class on board the U.S.S. LCS (L) 3-29 between September 9, 1944 to January 31, 1946. 
The Atom Bomb was dropped during this period on August 6, 1945.  The ship that Julius Candrilli was on was prevalent in most major Pacific Theater invasions beginning in late 1944.
